MILMA attends EUROCITIES Social Affairs Forum Meeting
The main objective of the meeting was to discuss and exchange views on how to make cities socially sustainable for the future. Moreover, it promoted the relevant role of cities as active agents to link the European Pillar of Social Rights, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Urban Agenda for the EU in a way that delivers tangible results for people in urban areas.
The event started with a high-level debate. Very important issues were raised like what cities can do to implement socially sustainable policies that affect the social rights of all people.
After the debate, participants were organised in different tables with the aim to exchange experiences and good practices that are being carried out throughout Europe in the social area. In this same space, we had the opportunity to present the MILMA Project to the rest of the cities as a good practice that covers employment and integration too. Likewise, we promoted public-private collaboration to combat unemployment.
Moreover, we had the opportunity to meet other UIA projects that have been launched as B-MINCOME, from Barcelona, and Mi-Friendly project, from the city of Coventry that also innovates in the area of integration of migrants and refugees.
As a conclusion, the teamwork considers that attending this type of events is very positive for the life and development of MILMA.
