Digital news from Växjö: A web application to facilitate integration of foreign-born is now in place.
As a result of the pandemic and the context of limited physical meetings, co-workers from the municipality organization turned to the digitization project Diaccess, to find out if a digital solution could facilitate their work? The Diaccess project aims to increase digitalization and innovation for Växjö municipality. Within the project, there is a digital lab, where ideas and hypotheses can be tested. IT trainees are hired to build digital prototypes based on the needs. The purpose of these prototypes is for the municipality organization (the owner of the need) to be able to test the solution in reality, to see if it meets the needs when used in reality. "This way of working provides an advantage over buying an off-the-shelf product from the market," says Oscar Lönnerheden, who is responsible for the digital lab in the Diaccess project. " Engagement also increases among employees, as their wishes are taken seriously," he continues.
The web application to facilitate the integration of foreign-born people is now live. The purpose has been to gather "all" information in one place. Today it contains, among other things: information about employment, studies, starting a business, wellness and health, digital service, networks, facts about Sweden and the Swedish language. The material in the web application is available in both text and film format.
The digital lab within the Diaccess project is run by the Municipality of Växjö in collaboration with the partner companies dizpark, and Wextnet. In addition to the goal of developing prototypes that can meet business needs, there is also a goal of giving the IT trainees who are hired a good breeding ground for employment in the region’s IT sector.
