Aveiro Criatech Artistic Residences
Aveiro Criatech Residences programme aims to promote the development of STEAM competences in a collaborative idealization context, with the participation of professionals and students from various creative areas. Through the transfer of experiences and knowledge, and the execution of multidisciplinary activities, promoting a learning culture, thinking, experimentation, exploration and innovation production.
The first edition is mentored by the Canadian artist’s Cadie Desbiens-Desmeules (push 1 stop) and Michael Dean (wiklow), both work in generative processes and live performance. Twenty candidates from various fields such as architecture, digital arts and dance, have been selected to work with the artists and tutors from UA (University of Aveiro) and ESAD (College of Art & Design of Matosinhos) for the next months to develop their projects based in technology. During the programme candidates must develop mixed skills which unify the STEAM areas and digital competences in a unique experience on an interdisciplinary level.
The first stage of the program was launched from the 5th to 7th of March to encourage and stimulate the imagination and innovative ideas to project development. The syllabus of the launch program was strongly supported by the subjects related with Design Targeting and Concept Generation. The next stage, as mentioned, is dedicated to Project Development until the final stage, the Public Showcase. At the end of the showcase the selected project(s) that will participate in Criatech will be announced.
