Antwerp hosts three days conference on migration
The main goal was to exchange experiences, to learn from each other and to draw conclusions for the future. About 120 representatives from local and international governments attended. Afterwards there was a workshop ‘migration and integration’ from Eurocities, which was attended by around 20 participants.
Challenges and realisations
The conference opened with a panel discussion. The four cities discussed their political context. We found out in what way projects would continue with own resources and why. In the afternoon, everyone had the chance to participate in interactive workshops, that were guided by UIA-experts. Participants could ask questions and talk to the partners of all projects.
BREM16 shares personal stories about CURANT
The next day, CURANT presented their innovative site BREM 16 in Merksem.
The international delegation met the youngsters and partners of CURANT. They enjoyed an interactive tour at the site. CeMIS (University of Antwerp) presented the results.

The CURANT youngsters also played their part. They dazzled the guests with their stories and showed the faces behind the project. Buddy’s and newcomers shared their first experiences with cohousing and told about the reactions of their relatives.
