CoRE project and the role of volunteering
In his third journal, UIA Expert Christoph Reinprecht guides us through the role and relevance of voluntary activity both from the angle of refugee (self-) empowerment, and the involvement of civil society and explains why within the CORE-project, volunteering is seen as an important mean for becoming part of society.
He also sheds light on the latest progress on the project’s activities most importantly by successfully acting as a facilitator for integration projects in Vienna, by applying the Viennese “integration from day one-approach”, and by targeting the different groups of asylum seekers and refugees.
Finally, Christoph looks into the challenges faced by CORE - both the ones as a consequence of the political situation on national level, but also those regarding the complex interaction between local administration and civil society actors.
