How to build alternative community-led housing models at city level? - URBACT-UIA webconference on community-led practices

URBACT-UIA webconference on community-led practices!
Follow the 24 April web conference (10.00 AM – 1.00 PM) on Community-Led practices! URBACT and UIA are organising an online event, exploring the practical ways cities implement community-led practices for housing. Save the date to share your ideas and experiences with city practitioners and experts on how to design alternative housing models that meet the residents needs for safe, adequate and affordable housing.

Draft programme – 18.03.2020

While the public provision of low income, adequate and affordable housing is still to be pursued, alternative housing models and governance structures are experimented by European cities.

The web conference will look into cities’ experiments to understand how community-led practices, through collaborative schemes, induce financial, social and citizen engagement solutions to housing affordability issues.

Building on the experience of UIA and URBACT cities, this online event is designed as an interactive forum to present and discuss innovative solutions such as community-land trusts, co-housing, shared ownership and re-municipalisation of housing.

It aims to inspire city leaders and practitioners to collaborate and take action at municipal level. The discussion will also contribute to the European Urban Agenda Partnership on housing and will help develop further policy recommendations to push the agenda on the right to housing EU wide.
