The Permanent Secretariat has been busy since the second Call for Proposals closed on 14 April.
After finalising the Eligibility check in May, a Panel of External Experts completed the Strategic Assessment of those eligible proposals looking at four criteria: innovativeness, quality of the partnership, measurability and transferability potential. More than 200 projects proposals were analysed as part of the Strategic assessment.
As a result of the Panel’s assessment, 21 projects have been shortlisted by the Entrusted Entity and the European Commission to go on to the third and final step of the selection process: the Operational assessment. These 21 shortlisted projects cover the three topics selected for this Call for Proposals: integration of migrants and refugees (already covered in the 1st Call for Proposals), urban mobility and circular economy.
All the non-shortlisted applicants have received the detailed feedback of the Panel of External Experts by e-mail in July.
The Operational assessment is currently being carried out by the Permanent Secretariat in order to identify the projects that will be funded.
Not all shortlisted projects will receive UIA funding. Based on the budget available for this Call, the final decision will be taken by a Selection Committee made up of the European Commission and the Entrusted Entity at the end of September.
The approved projects will be announced on the 10th of October during the European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC). Please look at the event's official website for further information and how to register (event number: 10B116).
Please do not hesitate to contact the UIA Permanent Secretariat should you have any question.
