UIA Expert Christian Iaione has been collecting the knowledge stemming from the implementation of the innovative solution proposed by the City of Turin that is transforming abandoned structures and vacant land into hubs of resident participation in order to foster community spirit as well as the creation of social enterprises with the aim of contributing to reduce urban poverty in different areas of the city.

54 Collaboration proposals were approved by the City Government of Turin and accessed the co-design phase that will lead to the implementation of the projects presented under the categories identified by the Co-City project (periphery and urban cultures, underused service platforms and care of public spaces).

Despite the heavy rain forecasted, around 70 people convened in Cascina Roccafranca, the House of Neighbourhood located in the heart of the Mirafiori area and partner of the project, to discuss the contents of the first public call launched at the beginning of June by the City of Turin, which defines how residents and associations can propose collaboration agreements to the City for the management of urban commons.
