From URBACT to UIA: the second article focusing on Rotterdam now available

After the testimoy of Turin, read the story from the city of Rotterdam, one of the three urban authorities that have built upon their experiences in URBACT to design an innovative UIA project.

URBACT and UIA agreed to produce a series of interviews that will tell the story of how three urban authorities have built upon their experiences as part of the URBACT Programme to design innovative and successful UIA projects.

Three urban authorities, out of the 17 selected under the 1st UIA Call for Proposals, have been active participants in the URBACT programme and have used the knowledge acquired from their participation to shape their innovative actions. These are Turin, Bologna and Rotterdam, selected for their innovative projects on urban poverty, the integration of migrants and refugees as well as on jobs and skills in the local economy.

After the first article dedicated to the experience of Turin, it is now time to learn more about the journey done by the City of Rotterdam.

In the interview with Cleo Pouw and Hendrik-Jan Bosch  explain how the long lasting and very active involvement of the City of Rotterdam in the URBACT Programme has helped the urban authority and its local partnership to design the successful UIA project while offering to the new Initiative of the European Union the possibility to support a bold and revolutionary project bridging the gap between new economic sectors and the skills of the labour force (BRIDGE project).
